Health, Safety & Environment
Giltech Precision Castings is
committed to seeking continuous improvement in our health and
safety performance through the adoption of best practices and
adherence to our health and safety management systems.
The health and safety of our
personnel is non-negotiable. We believe that a safe environment is
not just a place where injuries and accidents do not occur, but
also where the risk of an injury or incident has been managed
out.
We are committed to seeking
continuous improvement in our health and safety performance through
the adoption of best practices and adherence to our health and
safety management systems.
We firmly believe that all accidents
are preventable and that everyone is responsible for ensuring that
safety is not compromised.
We have a 144-Bag Bag House through
which all fumes are fed and which produces near zero emissions.
Giltech Precision Castings maintains
compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards to
achieve a high standard of health and safety.
GILTECH has been re-accredited with Tertiary Level
for the ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices Programme. A
fantastic result for an industrial orientated company.
GILTECH achieved the highest level under the ACC WSMP
programme and has been operating at a tertiary level since
September 2007. We are now at the forefront of workplace
Health and Safety.
The audit involved a very intensive day on
the Dunedin Site and staff from management to factory floor
underwent scrutiny on their knowledge, awareness and disciplines
around correct Health and Safety procedures.
From senior management to production staff, people are
more proactive in their attitude towards putting safety
first.
"The achievement of Tertiary level in the WSMP programme
has been fantastic" says John Aitken General Manager of
the Dunedin Foundry. "Whilst it is great to be recognised with the
accreditation, the real reward is that our staff can come to
their job at GILTECH and expect to have a safe day at
work"
